1. I’m Going on Tour for Belwop & Orphans

    THE STORY

Over the last several weeks, God has put all of the steps in front of me to plan a tour for the cause of the orphans of Kenya across Virginia & West Virginia.

The Belwop Project started a campaign in July called “30k All the Way!” with a goal to raise $30,000 by August 31st this year to finish purchasing the brand new home in Kenya they have in their grasp. The reason they need to raise this amount in such short notice is because if they don’t, then they might loose the house that could greatly expand to give hope and a hope to more orphaned children in Kenya.

This is why I’m going on tour. To help raise a part of that goal.

Their plan :: get 1000 people to give $30 each. That would finish the funding for the home.

My hope is to get several hundred people to commit to giving a one-time gift of $30 to help finish purchasing the home.

(Below are the details of the Tour…)

  2. 30K all the way :: A Home for Orphans

The Belwop Project is a group of friends, artists, college students, and advocates, all volunteering to help provide hope and a home to the abused, neglected, and orphaned children of Kenya.

I’m so pleased to be a part of this cause, collaborating with incredible individuals with a vision to give of themselves for the cause of others.

    They need our help!

Over the last 2 years, they have put on grassroots and online events and social-awareness campaigns to raise support to purchase a new home to house 100 orphaned children. Today, the Belwop Rescue Center (home in Kenya) has 20 children. And they want to make room for more!

    Donate Here.

They’ve raise everything but $30,000, the final stretch to purchase the home they have right now in their grasp.

If 1,000 people (from Facebook, Twitter, etc…) gave $30, Belwop would officially have the home!

They need to raise this 30K by September 1st in order to buy this home!

They need our support and our voice to share their story and the story of the orphans of Kenya.

Help them reach their goal and please repost here on Tumblr and your social media sites!

  3. Belwop :: Hope Has A Home Film

    “Hope Has A Home”

Belwop Rescue Center exists for one single purpose:  to give a hope and a home to the abused, neglected, and orphaned children of Kenya.  Started in 2005 through the vision and faithfulness of one woman - Veronica Mumbi - Belwop is an orphanage that creates an environment that fosters learning, personal growth, and equal rights.  Belwop has opened its doors to over 50 children, and several are now adults and completely self sufficient.  Located in the little town of Nyeri in rural Kenya, it isn’t likely you’ve ever heard of Belwop before… but once you have seen Belwop, it will never leave you.

Right now twenty two kids call Belwop home, call Veronica ‘mother’, and are receiving an education thanks to the efforts of people like you and me!  Unfortunately, right now all these kids live in three small bedrooms and share a single working toilet… Belwop has reached capacity and cannot admit anymore children, yet there are so many more that need a home.  Every day Veronica has no choice but to sadly turn away more children because there just isn’t enough space for everyone, and we think that isn’t right.  So, we’re doing something about it.

We need to raise $100,000 to build a new orphanage or purchase and enhance an existing building that will fit 100 kids.  Yeah, a hundred thousand dollars is a lot of change, but it’s nothing compared to the real change it will produce in the lives of these beautiful kids.  Once we’ve reached our goal and purchase the home, we’ll need ongoing support to keep things running, and we’ll need more partners and volunteers to help us.

  4. What’s better than a moving double decker red bus (like in London) thrift store rolling around America to different college campus’ to sell and receive donated clothes to help the 140,000,000 orphans (or more) in our world today? Heck yes.

  5. Urban Agriculture & Education Project :: Vibrancy, Love, Life & Health.

We all need this. This is community. This is real life - it changes us, makes us new, makes us what we should be, what we’ve longed for for so long.

    Let’s do it.
